Automotive & Autonomous Vehicle Sensors Workshop

Wednesday, October 4 | 10:15AM-2:00PM

The autonomous vehicle movement has been steadily gaining market momentum. Sense technologies are playing an integral role enabling Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features which are becoming the building blocks to autonomous driving capabilities. As sensors like LiDAR, Radar, and Cameras become more cost effective, vehicle OEMs are offering more ADAS features to the market. Driver assistance features is just the beginning, Vehicle OEMs have pledged huge investments and triggered M&A activities centered around autonomous vehicle movement. Clearly automotive electronics has shifted from the traditional real-time command and control functions that utilize an array of low cost resource limited Microcontrollers. Now it is all about high-performance computer platforms that use heterogeneous computer CPUs, GPUs, DSPs and ISPs to help fuse data from: an array of sense elements such as radars, LiDAR, ultrasonic, and cameras to external sources vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure even satellites.

This half-day Workshop, will explore Autonomous Vehicles through different viewpoints:

  • IHS Markit will set the stage as to what the market conditions, and what the is needed to make autonomous vehicles a reality.
  • OEM/Tier 1 will tell us about the challenges car makers are facing?
  • Auto-Talks will explain what is V2X and its importance to enabling autonomous vehicles?
  • Xilinx will speak on what is the semiconductor industry contribution to the solution?

Following these insightful presentations – there will be a panel discussion to further explore the topic of autonomous vehicles.
